94 Accord cranks normally but doesn't start
I've been having issues the past week with my car refusing to start up right away. I've never had issues with my vehicle and all of this popping up is very concerning.
It's a 94 Accord with 113K miles, the only recent work that has been done on it was replacing the exhaust system as is was beginning to rust. The air filter has been replaced within the past month and the Ignition switch is working properly.
I've had a separate issue in the past with my dash lights not functioning when my headlights were in use. They have been working again for the past 5 months with no issues. I'm not sure if these are connected but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention.
I've taken it to a shop where it started up 40 times in a row with no problem. they didn't do anything to my car as they told me that if it's not acting up they can't solve the problem. I asked them to check fuel pressure when starting however they refused to do so.
Symptoms
Engine sounds normal when turning key but when releasing the engine doesn't continue to run (like the engine doesn't catch I guess.)
I have to crank several times before it starts, pressing gas pedal seems to help at times, but isn't reliable.
it starts up usually right away once it's been driven at least 15 minutes, I've had trouble starting on warm, cold, and rainy days.
At one point my engine was running while I was parked and actually died, this only happened once.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I don't have money to take it to a dealer and am trying to avoid unneeded expenses.
Thanks

Re: 94 Accord cranks normally but doesn't start
If the contacts in the ignition switch are bad the car will crank and appear to start but once you let off the key it will die. I had to replace my ignition switch.
One relatively easy thing to check is the main relay, that's a very common issue with our cars, just remove the relay and check the solder points for cracks.
One other issue that I was having is that the alarm that came with the car was poorly installed and created a problem starting at times and eventually would just die when I was driving, I ended up removing the alarm completely but later on the connections came loose and the same problem came back up again.
Its going to be difficult to troubleshoot unless you are actively having the issue.
