I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX with a 2.2 V-tech engine and a manual transmission. Wile I was driving I noticed the car felt like it was very underpowered. I Was heading back home and after a I was able to come off a light, tried to go into 2nd and the that was it...it would not engage. I am unable to get the car to engage any gear at all. No grinding sounds, or anything like that. Wile the car is running I can freely select any gear, but she still wont move. Car never had any tranny problems in the past. Tried bleeding the slave cylinder, and topped of the tranny with oil, and still, the car just wont go into gear. It feels like the clutch is engaged all the time. Please any help or insight would be HUGELY appreciated.

From what i have understand you can shift into any gear while your car is running, but the car wont move when you let off the clutch pedal? If thats correct then let me ask you this when was the last time you have replaced your clutch? Another thing i would check is the shifter cables, maybe one of them is broken. Also i would suggest taking off the shifter console/shift boot and look over there maybe something is loosened up. Another thing you could do- there is a thing on top of the transmission, the gear selector which the cables from your shifter connect to, try looking at it when someone is going through the gears. If thats not moving back n forth then its your shifter cables.

I seen both the cables for the shifter move both the things on top of the tanny I haven't looked inside the shifter console but I will be checking that out next. and with the clutch I not sure how old it is.. The car is used when i got it but there wasn't any signs of anything wrong with anything all seems to work fine it just wont let the tranny engage. and that just stop like after a light change

If the cables are moving fine then you dont need to check the shifter console. Well if the clutch was engaged all the time you wouldnt be able to shift into gears while the car is running. And you said you felt like it was weaker than before, so the first thing comes to my mind is that your clutch is used up and it was slipping and eventually burned out completely. And im not sure if you can check your clutch without taking the transmission out. Try to shift into gear without pressing the clutch pedal see if it will go into gear?(Pull your E-brake first while doing this).

oh it goes into gear fine with the clutch in or out i can even put it in gear and let off the clutch and not anything happens it stays running and all right at this point all i have to do with the clutch is put it in to get it to start after that the car will run changing gears and all it just wont engage the gears its like the clutch is always pushed in... know of any good places to get a clutch kit from ?? lol

So you are telling me that while the car is running you can shift into gear without pressing the clutch pedal in? if thats the case and thats why i asked that earlier, then yeah either your clutch is totally worn out or something is wrong inside your transmission. I would suggest taking the trans out and making sure if clutch is the case and go on from there. As for the clutch kit, it depends on what you want. If it its for just daily driving and you also gun it sometimes, from an experience i would recommend Exedy Stage 1 you can find them on ebay too.

does it matter if i get a clutch kit for an 2.2 LX i have a 2.2 EX just wondering i think there are the same just not sure

yea i found it out thanks for all the help i got a kit on its way should be here the 10th ill post how it goes i cant wait to be able to the car again
