93 accord lx wont start
Looking for some advise. I have checked for spark on each cylinder...they all have spark. I can smell fuel. I checked compression. 180 180 120 180(I know one cylinder is low, but 120 is enough for combustion)
I tried starting fluid..sprayed directly into the throttle body, still nothing. When turning it over...it sounds like it may be trying to start on one cylinder. It has autolite plugs, they look pretty good. The guy who I bought it from said...one day it started dying...but would start. Then it died and now wont start. Oil looks good...coolant loks good. Suggestions?

Have you verified that the liquid in the tank is 100% gasoline, and not some non-combustible mixture?
Verified that the injectors are not blocked/checked fuel pressure?

I have not, I know the pump is running. The injectors could be clogged...or even the fuel filter. But, wouldnt the starting spray...bypass the whole fuel system? I mean it should roar to life with that stuff.

If the stuff in the tank is not gasoline(combustible) even with the spray, it may dilute it enough to render your starting spray inert. Try pulling the fuel pump relay/fuse/etc to kill any spray from the injectors. Then spray with your starting fluid inside the intake. If the car starts and then stops after the starting fluid is spent, then you know you have a non combustible liquid in the gas tank.

Ill try that. Im also going to pop the valve cover...make sre my timing is right. I didnt see a timing pointer on the cover behind the crankshaft, I though they had them...or at least my 97 does. How do you se if the crank is at tdc(I can always use a long extension int he spark plug hole i guess).

CB Accords should have a window on the bellhousing, timing marks are on the flywheel and a pointer is part of the bellhousing. Look below the distributor in line with the water outlet.
94 was the first year of the timing pointer on the crank pulley and front cover.

Checked timing, but it turned out to be leaking spark plus tube seals. They had fouled the plugs really bad. I put new plugs in...and it fired right up. But it started skipping shortly there after...and i noticed the tubes were filling full of oil tomorrow. I will be replacing the tube seals tomorrow.
