92 civic new head gasket with cel codes
Wrong section......Oops
I just bought a 1992 civic eg with 67,000 mile on it. Its from the original owner and he told me it had a blown head gasket. I took the car around the block a couple times to test it out but didnt want to drive it a lot since the known problem. No check engine lights came on.
I had a buddy who used to work at honda a couple years ago(a little rusty now) replace the head gasket, timing belt and water pump. I test drove it around the block and 2 check engine lights came on. I also think the car had a slight ruff idle.
9 CYP - cylinder sensor
43 Fuel supply system
While we were trouble shooting this we checked the timing again(which I think is off and causing the codes) and then cleared the codes by pulling the 7.5a fuse.
Started the car drove it around and the same cel codes. But now the car wont start half the time b/c the fuel pump wont prime(the noise when you turn the key).
My question is could these cel codes be caused by the timing being off? The car drives fine under normal conditions and I never ''got on it''.
Also I was thinking about buying a fuel pump relay to fix the other issue.

double check the timing belt.
you should test the fuel pump before spending money on it, it could be your main relay or ecu as well.
