Default 92 accord sputtered and died

I have a 92 accord and for the first time ever in 9 years of ownership the car sputtered then died.

I leave home regularly for 1-3 months at a time leaving my car at home. The carwas running fine when I left 24 days ago but now when I came back to it this is what happened in order.

I went out to the car and started it
Let it warm up and charge it's battery while I washed it with the garden hose
I notice while washing it that it's missing (misfireing) every 2 to 3 seconds
I finished washing it and got in and noticed it was running much rougher
put it in gear , rolled down the drive way
put it in drive and it really ran rough and could barley move itself
decided to not attempt to drive it so put it in reverse to back into the driveway
it sputtered a ton then just died
i pushed it into the driveway and when trying to restart it just sputters and clunks and shakes and doesn't run

things that probably arent the issue:

the car has a new gas tank/neck/fuel lines that a shop put in and have been working well prior to this
the fuel pump does turn on and i can hear it go
the fuel injectors are new
I assume the main relay works as this isn't what an accord usually does when a really stops working

This car has actually never had a "engine stops running" problem ever since i bought it. This is its very first engine related problem for me.

tools and knowledge i have:

I know how to change plugs and wires and easy things that can be reached
I have a socket set
I don't have a lift just a gravel driveway
I actually hardly ever wrench on car engines (I'm more knowledgeable with bodywork and fixing visual things like interior parts and bodypanels and such)

My first guess was to check the spark plugs but even I know that spark plugs don't justwork fine then 24 days later not work fine , so what else do you think an engine novice like me could try?

ok update

I took the spark plugs out and sanded them and put them back in , the car now idles by itself , but will die if i press on the gas pedal , it idles fine and can just barely move if i put it in gear and let it coast around

Well i'm not getting much in the way of response here so I'm going to just buy everything fuel related and spark related

If that doesn't fix it i'll send it back to the shop that put the gas tank in

Check the MAP sensor on top of the throttle body. I would start there.

the solution turned out to be cap and rotor. the points in the cap were oxidized and dirty there was also a tiny amount of oil in the cap
