92 accord lx started then died now won't start.
So my 92 accord had sat for a few months of no driving until i bought a new starter for it. was just rolling and jumping in and starting but had no reason to do that anymore as the wife quit work and i just drove her car to work. Anyways I finally broke down and bought a new starter as she started work and its nice to have my own car up and running as much as a pos it is. well i put the new starter in and she fired right up and i drove her for a few days. after a few days of driving i didn't go anywhere for a day or two and then when i went out to go to work the battery was dead (back lights stayed on even after car was off, got that problem fixed) but anyways needed a new battery anyways as this was a few years old, so replaced that. then started the car it came on and as i went to step on the gas it died. started it again and then it ran for a few seconds and slowly died. Sprayed some starter fluid in and it would run with that being sprayed. so replaced the fuel filter and still the same thing. sounded worse but stayed on for a bit longer but was turning over very very slowly till it died. then wouldn't start again. runs with starter fluid being sprayed so i don't know if its a fuel problem or not. going to replace the fuel regulator next. but any help at all or knowledge that can be passed on this would be greatly appreciated. and also many thanks to any and all help. .

have you tried checking your idle air control valve? A really dirty and clogged one will cause your car to stall/ not turn on. Do the rpms act wildly or flat out low?

now i feel dumb for not thinking of that, i had it in my head i had a fuel issue or something, but i will def check that, been hard to check things with work, im usually gone a day or two for work before i get to do anything w my car again. and it won't turn on at all, if i spray starter fluid in it it will start up but when i stop spraying it will run for a second and then slowly die, well not to slow it dies pretty quickly, but it will sputter for a few seconds as its dying really slowly.

man when something goes bad it goes from bad to worse, still messing around with this and then our 2008 mazda 6 got totaled and the insurance is screwing us on it and the truck driver fled the scene. Anyways, cleaned the IAC and replaced the relay, still nothing, i don't know what i have left to do except replace the fuel pump. Unless anyone has any ideas at all. as far as i can tell its just not getting any fuel to the engine.

Okay. Before changing parts and draining your pockets.... run some basic diagnostic tests.... test fuel pressure. Check for fire. Check the timing belt didn't break. Run the basics then move on to the bigger things......

Right on I'm finally back home and more time to work on it. Yea I'm checking fuel pressure and all that. Its so hard to work on stuff when you travel for work. And of course there has to be some a-hole people out there. My car is out of the way from anyone's property but the neighbors say its still to close to their house sitting where it's at so they trash my car all up. My car is a pos at the moment anyways but come on, seriously. Ugh if I was still a teenager the things I would do lol. But anyways yea I'll post more when I find out more tomorrow. I really appreciate all the help everyone has given me.

Possibly a blown fuel pump fuse. My old Car did the same thing. It started with ether but wouldn't stay running when I stopped spraying. I could hear the fuel pump working so I checked the fuse and that was the problem. Cheap fix.
