'90 Accord Suspension problem
Hello, I'm new to this forum. I'm having a problem with the suspension on my 1990 accord ex sedan. There is a clunking noise in the front end and I cannot find where it is coming from. After inspecting the front suspension, I found that the upper ball joints on both sides were worn. I replaced both of those. Problem still persists. I replaced the sway bar end links as well as the sway bar bushings, still no luck. Lower ball joints are tight. Struts are new as well.
The clunking can only be heard at speeds slower than 15 mph. It is most prominent when going over slight imperfections in the pavement. This is my first Honda, and I'm out of ideas as to what is causing this problem. The front tires are cupping on the inside edge. The car pulls straight.
Also, I'm interested in lowering the car. I've never lowered a vehicle before, and I'm wondering how much drop is appropriate? I'm not interested in dragging the pavement; I live in a rural area, so I need some clearance under the car. I just want to close up the gaps between fenders and the tires.
