90 Accord-no start
I have a 90 accord that is not starting. I checked codes and got a 15 which is ignition system. changed distributor w/one off another 90 accord that is working, still no start. I was wondering if the wires might be fried on the inside that is why I have a no start condition. The towers on the old cap were fried and the wires still have carbon stuck to them that won't come off. Could it be the wires?????

Hey, I'm having the having the same problem w/ my '90 Accord Ex. Before it wouldn't start, it runs, but shaking real bad then it die. Couldn't get it to turn over since. Will check distrubutor, cap, rotor, main relay, timing and starter. I checked fuel pressure and fuse. My brother said the headgasket is blown and no compression. Is that why the car is not turning over?

Do it right the first second time!
Re: 90 Accord-no start (moot)
Make that 3 accords that won't start. Damn 1990's. Mine will start after a charge, then you turn it off and it won't start up again.

First of all you all have to diferentiate between "won't crank" and "cranks but won't start". If the engine won't even turn over then the first thing you should check is your battery and the battery connections. If the car turns over, at a normal rate, but won't start then you have to determine if it's getting spark and fuel. There are lots of things that will prevent a car from starting.
The procedures for this are in the manual. If you don't have a manual then you're probably going to have your car towed to a garage.

Re: 90 Accord-no start (luckydog)
ok, it will crank but won't start. I changed distributor w/one off another 90 accord that was working. still getting no spark from the wires(screwdriver test) I just want to know if the wires could be fried on the inside and that is why I still get a crank but no start. Main relay is good, fuel pump is humming after the crank which is good, can smell gas when trying to get it to start, timing belt is still on(crankshaft turning). Could it be the wires??????

Wires very rarely go bad and there is barely any chance they would all go bad. Did you change everything related with the distributor or just the cap and rotor? How about the coil?
