6th gens reliablity, as far as i know is less.
the J30 engine is awesome, the 5th gen V6 aint got jack on it. but the 4 pot is whatever, V6 6th gens have potential tranny problems, and only SCs are available, unless you wanna do a expensive custom turbo setup.

6th gen coupes look better to me but 5th gen sedans are the best ever, IMHO.a 6th gen 4 banger stick with a turbo kit, SICK! thats all ill say.

Also remember this, the 5th gen has been done a million times over, the 6th gen is just really starting to gain popularity so catch on early and give it your flavor.

I second that!

Ive had a 5th gen and now drive a 6th gen. I loved my 5th gen and would go back to one but finding one in good condtion is hard to come by. I plan to get a 5th gen again and boost the **** out of it. The 6th gen on the other hand is waayyy too heavy and is really big. Id pick 5th gen all over again.

These are the kind of replies Im looking for and need more of. Some one that has owned or does own both 5th and 6th gen accords that can tell me there pros and cons and which is better. I know the 6th gens are heavier but how much heavier and by what margin? Do you like the 6th gen body trim or the 5th gen body trim?

personally, i think the 5th gen is a better car. they are more agressive looking...it seems like honda decided to make it more of a family car and even when they are modded dropped and stuff like that, they just dont seem to look as sexy as the 5th gen. however, as legendaryaj said, 5th gens in good condition are hard to come by and the ones that are in good condition have probably been modded. just my .02

If between only both body styles and if i could get both BRAND NEW id go with the 5th gen hands down. The 6th gen is tooo bloaty. The 5th gen feels a bit more sportier than the 6th and a lil tighter. Interior wise i like the 5th gen better also. Again, i have owned a 5th gen b4. Only reason why im with 6th gen now is because rents say the older car isnt gonna last like a newer car so i had no choice.

If i picked the 5th gen itd be only the 94-95 ex's cuz they are OBDI. OBDII cars suck *** cuz the CEL trip on every lil thing which annoys me. If 6th gens, only 98-99 V6. Id get the 5th gen in 4banger though. The 98-99 Accord V6's are the best outta the bunch.

Which one benefits better from hop ups, 95 sedans or 98 sedans? From what I saw the 98s do depsite being heavier.

What do you mean exactly? They are basically the same as far as performance aftermarket goes cuz they both share the same 4banger. If you going V6 then its better to go with the 6th gen, but the 6th gen suffers from the autotragic syndrome. Dealing with OBDI is soo much better than OBDII. anythign with the 4banger can be done on both cars, there isnt anything that couldnt be done i dont believe.

I love my 6th gen body style but I had tranny problems within a month of purchase. I kinda felt funny about it ever since. But I'm just praying that it never acts up again. But I love the body style; even though it's a big car and i'm a short guy. I should've purchased the 4th or 5th gen instead. LOL

I'm VERY partial to the 5th gen accords, preferably the 94-95. the bodies are reasonablly sized, not too heavy, great interior room, very well thought out. but given the oportunity, I'd trade for a late 6th gen coupe w/ 3.0V6 VTEC and Comptech SC. I hate the 6th gen 4dr. just something weird in me, I guess.

But I also drive an early 5thGen coupe. not too shabby. great reliablity (when I'm not giving it hell), good gas milage, great bodylines.

In my area you can still find 5th gens in good shape. I have found some with only 75 to 90 thousand miles on them. Thats not bad for a car almost ten years old. To find what you want you have to look in the right places.

When you say the 6th gen has that middle aged man look are you talking about the 01-02 accords or all the 6th gens from 98. When I look at the 01-02s I see what you mean. They look like an old persons car because of what they did to the front grill and rear tail lights but the 98-00s look sportier and younger than the 01/02s.
