Default 45 bucks for a replacement oem rear speaker or aftermarket?? 98 accord 2 door

My rear left speaker is not working, its an oem peice. Should i get another oem piece for 45 bucks shipped for both rear speakers with warranty used. Or upgrade to after market speakers?? I think the oem sounds fine but if there is something comparable in price that sounds better PLEASE let me know thanks

I would buy aftermarket, since the stock oem rear speakers is really bad...
I had a 00 coupe LX which I assume uses the same/similar speakers. If you have an EX I am not sure if that's any different.
But ANY aftermarket speakers will be better than my stock ones...
Any 6"x9" should drop right in

When you say drop right in, i noticed the wiring is plug and play, i would have to cut and solder to make after market work right??

nope.

I just re-speakered my entire 95 accord, no soldering involved. Accords (as far as I know) don't use solder.

Most aftermarket speakers will come with two sets of wires on it, that just bayonet onto the new speaker connections.

All you have to do is remove the old speaker, cut the connecting wires, splice the aftermarket's up to it, tape it, and walla! hook it to the speakers.

Also, in 95 the speakers are 1 way , so any aftermarket speakers will be good.

It is really going to be hard though to find a 6x9 that is under $45 though man

I guess you could ghetto-rig a 6x5 up to it...but lol. $119 is about the cheapest you can get 6x9's for =\

the 98's had decent speakers, i dont know if the newer ones do this but i know the older accords got a speaker upgrade if it was an EX, like the DX would have 6x6 all the way around and the EX would have 4'' in the doors and 6x9's in the back. But id just get the new oem speakers if its with the warranty and all

Yea i dont want to spend that much on speakers because the other one still works lol, so i guess the ones for 45 shipped are the deal to get.

I redid my whole system for a 00 accord LX coupe, and the oem one is a paper 1 way speaker which has a factory harness connector plug into it. As deathtaco says, just cut off the connectors, crimp some butt splice (female tab connectors that you can get at any hardware store), and then plug to an aftermarket speakers.
To me, the OEM speakers doesn't worth $45, if you look closer you can definitely get better on craigslist/ebay for $45. I once got some cerwin vega for like $30-$40 6"x9".

If you decide to go aftermarket and if you still use the stock CD player (or aftermarket CD player with no separate amp), look for models that has high sensitivity with separate tweeter on there. Seriously, ANY brand speaker will be better than the OEM piece of junk...

Or better yet, if you don't have rear passengers, don't even bother installing new ones. At home you typically only listen to two channels, why do you need to hear sound from the back? As a matter of fact I took my rear speakers out last night so my subwoofer sound can pass thru to the cabin, and definitely don't miss it at all.

Yeah I have pioneers in my 2000 ex 4cyl. and I had pioneers in my 1999 lx accord. I think they sound good with my aftermarket stereo.

Don't think your speakers are good just because they say pioneer on them, If you compare them side by side to the aftermarket equivelant the a/m speaker will make sound circlees around the stock ones.
This is one area that Honda has always been lacking. For more of my opinion I would spend the money and get a good set of aftermarket speakers, I have JBL and eclipse speakers in my cars.
