2005 Accord LX
When driving my '05 Accord LX, there is a knocking noise that is periodically heard upon weight transfer. The knocking can be heard inside the cabin and outside (mostly on the passenger side). The dealership service dept said that it was the brake pad shims, and that they were too tight. They said that the only thing that could be done was to lube them every time I have an oil change. However, that seems to only last about a week or so, and then the knock comes right back. Shouldn't they just be able to replace the brakes and/or the shims, or would I be right back in the same place that I'm in now? The service manager also said that this problem was worse on the Elements. Anyone else had this problem? What can I do to resolve this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not really sure what you are hearing but it could also be a bad shock or strut somewhere, if you hear sort of a popping/or knocking when you hit the breaks hard or go around a corner (weight transfer). Are the pads aftermarket? The only thing that ive heard with brake pads is pad slap when the brakes are applied, but what you are explaining doesnt sound like that to me.

Re: (V6iCkSpEeD)
The knock doesn't occur when the pressure is applied to the brakes; it actually occurs while driving (either within the first 10 seconds after take-off or during driving itself). The pads themselves are the originals that came on the car. I hate to keep trying a different dealership for this, but it seems like every time I do, they either can't find the problem or find something different..... I'd like to get it taken care of while still under warranty........
