2003 accord - factory alarm, or aftermarket?
i have a 2003 honda accord and i want to have an alarm installed. i'd prefer an aftermarket alarm, but is it possible to have the key/keyfob combo that i currently have programmed for an aftermarket alarm? i think it would look silly to have the key/keyfob combo and another keyfob attached to my keychain. any advice?
and if i went with a factory alarm instead, is it something that's simple to install, or does the dealer have to do it? any idea on price?
thanks

you currently don't have keyless entry or what? The car should already have the ECU programmed to only operate with your programed keys.
If you don't have keyless entry and you're just looking to get keyless entry, it'll cost a whole lot more to get factory then it would to get aftermarket, I personnaly prefer the factory myself, but to each their own.

I have the same car and im using the factory alarm. Im scared people will still try to jack my car after its finished built so I was thinking on purchasing an aftermarket alarm like the Viper SST 5900. I was thinking about buying it at a local alarm/stereo store for 315$ dollars with installation. If anyone has any idea of which alarm is better to get or keep please inform me.
Thanks.
Thanks.

i have a keyless entry(alarm) that is factory...and the people that owned the car before me had an aftermarket remote starter/alarm installed...
the only thing you have to do is NOT use the factory buttons on the oem key!
take the battery out of the key, if you dont and both alarms get set its a pain to turn off the alarm when it gets set off....
and i will go off when you try to disalarm one of them!
hope this helps!
