1997 Honda Accord SE needs help
Just bought this Honda its been in a wreck (front end) got the car back together but the front drivers side headlight isn't working. I checked the plug for the low beam with a test light and it has power on one side of the plug and not the other. The passengers side light works fine. Both high beam lights work fine. Also checked fuses under the hood and under the dash in the fuse panel. I'm stumped any ideas are welcome.

Then it sounds like you are missing a "ground"......most things work by having power on one side and ground on the other....but who am I......I hate electrical. I'm too tired to look but either G201 or G301 (one is pass side the other is drivers side ground for the headlight) would be where I would check.

Everything indicates it is the ground wire for the driver's side.
The passenger side has it's own respective ground wire. The high beams use a separate grounding. When you pull the dimmer switch to HI with the low beams already on, a ground signal is applied to the dimmer relay from the dimmer switch. This energizes the dimmer relay, applying ground to the high beam bulbs and high beam indicator, which turns on the high beams and indicator light. The low beam headlights stay on.

First wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your reply to my post. I'm not normally this slow to get back to the forum but I've just bought a new motorcycle, exciting right? No it had a do not ride recall LOL. Then to loose my virginity at the captured rotor experience. I will be putting the drilled/ slotted rotors with new wheel hub and bearing assembly for the front end. New brake shoes for the rear. I will be looking for this ground wire for the drivers side headlight tonight. I figured I may have removed it during the process of taking the car apart to repair the accident damages.

I guess I can throw this in before I get started with this car again tonight. Every time the radiator fans kick on the wipers come on. Don't laugh......let me do it. LOL!! So far I have a drivers side headlight that I have to look for a ground wire for and wipers that come on when the cooling fans kick on.

Ok found the post about the G201/G301 thanks anyway.
Check and clean the gounds for the front lights.....G201 and G301, I think on this gen. They are "little white blocks" of ground wires with a bolt holding them to the body of the car - behind the bumper.

hi, we bought a 1997 honda accord se coupe this summer and we have enjoyed it up til now. never owned one before. pt didn't come with an owners manual. it lost power incrementally as we were going home saturday night and totally shut off a short time later...not even hazard lights. took alternator off, it tested good at auto zone. not sure if i am supposed to post this here but anyone have any ideas?

And what did the battery test out at? The cables clean and tight, I clean the other end of the ground cable where it connects to the body and then the trans while there.
