You've picked a good project, it's not a ten minute proceedure
This is for US manufactured vehicles, I would presume the the right hand drive version will be a mirrored edition.
The A/C Control Assembly mounts to the rear of that large black plastic trim piece which starts at your left (right in UK) A/C Register and continues past the center registers. It's (the trim panels') mounting screws are located above the radio, above the dash cluster and behind several switches. It will require removing the rear console, the front console (to reach the screws above the radio). In addition you'll have to remove the Cruise/Sunroof switch, the Dash Dimmer Control switch and the Rear Defogger switch in order to reach hidden screws behind (I believe) the Cruise/Sunroof and Rear Defogger switch. That should get the dash trim plate off.
Note that theres' an 18 inch cable which runs off the back of the A/C control which you'll have to disengage; along with two wiring connectors, to get the control out to work on.
Good Luck
