I notice when I put the key into ignition and turn the key half way until radio comes on,wait till I hear fuel pump, then the car starts every time. some days when I jump in my car it cranks right up then other days I have to turn key half way until i hear pump then it starts

Do you hear the main relay click every time? Start there.

sounds like a bad ground or like EfyourK said. Check your main relay.
