Default 1990 honda accord

I have a 1990 Honda accord and it will go into reverse,2nd and 4th. It will not go into 1st, 3rd and 5th. Any ideas what is going on. I have bleed the slave cylinder and changed the trans oil.

With someone in the car trying to shift into those gears look at the linkage on the top of the tranny and see if anything is binding, loose, or just flat broke.

I replaced the linkage because one of the cables had broke. I measured the distance the book states and it is at the right length.

If you have no issues before the cable broke and now have an issue after replacing them then either the new assembly is not the right one or something is wrong with the installation.

Before linkage was replaced the car would have to run for about 15 minutes before it would go into gear. So that was why I thought maybe the oil needed changed. After that is when found one of the cables broke while trying to shift gears while in the garage.
