Default 1990 accord ex shakes under acceleration

I have a 1990 accord EX automatic with low miles (88k). It has a slight back and forth shake when I accelerate at light to medium throttle. I have done some research and the symptoms on my car are very similar to those that people experience when they need to clean out their EGR ports. However, I had a mechanic who only works on Hondas look at the car and he didn't think it was an EGR port issue. We reached this conclusion because the car does not shake when power braking it. It only has a shake under light to medium acceleration when keeping the revs around 2500-3500 RPMs. I'm stumped as to what might be causing this and I've done most of the routine maintenance (plugs/cap/rotor).

This is a real shot in the dark, but I suspect you're suffering from a broken tire belt. I have seen this condition on some small domestic GM cars, and it should be applicable here as well.
This is a condition which causes a lateral runout condition on at least one tire. In extream cases the vehicle can actual weeble from side to side as the broken belt passes thru the contact patch; most apparent at low speeds.

It can be easily checked by spinning the tires while they hang free, looking for an obvious shift of the tire tread where the belt has broken.

I would tend to agree with you however, the car only does this under throttle application. If I accelerate to 45mph I can feel the car do it however, if I let off the gas and let the car coast, at any speed, there is no noticeable shake in the car. Also, I can feel the shake in the body but not in the steering wheel, which leads to me to believe it isn't tire related. A great example of this shake is that my drivers side mirror wobbles back and forth just a little bit when the car is accelerating. Its not unbearable but its definitely noticeable.

Which bearings would be going bad? I just had my muffler bearing changed last month.

Anybody know where the vacuum line is so that I can bypass my EGR valve to see if these symptoms to away. That seems to be the best way to determine if it is EGR related or not.
