06 Accord with Navigation - can't replace rear speakers?
Rear speakers are weak.
I want to upgrade them. Dealer says they can't be upgraded due to the magnet interfering with the nav gyros. Rear oem speakers have tiny magnets.
I want to put in new JBL's that have much larger magnets.
I don't want to jack up the nav system and I want to updgrade the speakers.
Any suggestions?

Infinity makes some good magnetically shielded speakers. They may be worth a try. Or, depending on how much work/money you want to put into it, NXT makes flat panel speakers that you can relocate to the reardoors or almost any other place (The New Toyota FJ cruiser has them built into the ceiling panel).

That's a good idea.
I'm going to attempt to post a picture of the speaker magnet. It is seriously small.
What unit/model Infinity are you referring to? Crutchfield didn't carry any when I called this afternoon.
Thanks...

You can do it just be sure that you get the shielded speakers as stated above. The magnet radius is pretty close to a quarter size but replacing them isn't going to give you "a world of difference" I would reccomend using a small inline amp to help it out some if your looking for better power.

If I remember correctly all of the Infinity Kappa series are shielded speakers. You could also go the route of marine speakers, which are almost all shielded so as not to interfere with the boats navigation system.
