05 accord oem fog light question......

05 accord oem fog light question......
my buddy has an 05 accord v6. he would like to get the oem fog lights for it. he was told that if you have the exterior temp. sensor (which he has) that you can't run the oem fogs and the exterior temp. sensor together. it's either one or the other. i have zero idea why that would matter unless the harness is piggybacked through it for some reason. has anyone ever heard anything about this, or people who have both these options please give me your input here......

I believe that it is only the dealer installed temp sensor that is the problem, not the factory sensor.

ok, sorry for sounding dumb, but how would he know if it's from the factory or if the dealer put it in. i mean like what would be the difference of a factory or dealer installed?
or is is just because of the harness the dealer would use, rather than if it was already spidered in from the factory. basiclly i think his dash just tells him the outside temp. if he called the dealer where he got it, they should be able to tell him if they messed w/ it right?

If it is an EX, it should be factory; the LX doesn't have it AFAIK

I will confirm this! As said above the fog lights cant be installed with accessory (add-on) exterior temperature sensor, if you have an ex-l or an exl-nav model (ex models with factory leather) then it came from the factory with the temperature sensor so the fog lights can be installed. The restriction only applies to those vehicles that had the sensor added on later, not sure of what reason for wiring or for fuse reasons not really sure!

i have 2006 EX-L with factory temp sensor... I installed my fog lights no problem myself... dealership is full of **** lol... of course their are there to make money....
it's totally different from your fog relay to your temp sensor/relays and stuff..
If he is worried just take it to the dealership
