Default 02 accord SE factory alarm problems,

As much as I love waking up neibours, scaring the crap out of passangers, and having the cops pull behind me in parking lots when my factory alarm goes of unexpectidly, i want to get rid of it...

I have a paging after market alarm installed on the car which has already helped
me after some kids slamed into my car outside a pub, (didn't hear the alarm but heard the pager, and got the kids to pay for the damages) I find this system is much better than the factory and want to keep it... but becuase my honda alarm seems to arm itself on random intervals every now and again. Its like roling the dice when opening my door to see if it will go off after the viper alarm has already been disableded. And i dont want to carry around two alarm device for the rest of the time I own the car

The honda mechanic won't even tell me if its posible withought charging me for an hour of labor to phone the honda tech line, he's never encounterd this situation, I do not think I should be charged for them just to find out if this can even be do and for them to sit on the phone. If It can not be uninstalled ive payed for them to do absulutly nothing but get information they should already have had on site..

So there is my problem, I need some solutions on how to disable the factory alarm system... permenetly, I understand the problems with publishing this info but please help by mailing me some info..

The car is the 2002 accord SE standard coupe. Plz help getting frustrated

I, as an Acura tech, can completely understand the Honda mechanics view that he needs at least an hour diag time.
We don't work for free, especially when there are "aftermarket" goodies installed electrically.

Pay the ******* hour diag time and you will know your problem, unless it's VERY complicated....in which case you will be charged additional diag. time.

Hey man have no probs pay'n for work that I know is going to get done, but i should not pay for training, as I see this situation as, its the factory alarm I need uninstalled not the after market, so diagnoses of a standard part on car should not need diagnoses, it should already be known. (seems weird to me though that they cant even tell me if it can be done or not without lossing $80.00)

I'll bite the bullet if he needs to get trained on my dollar (shouldn't honda be paying him for his trainng on standard equipment so he can better assist the cutomers) becuase I really need/want it done. I basicaly just want to know if it can be done or give them info on how to do it without costing me money...

how can you just look at the car and determine whether or not the alarm can be dissected and removed or not?

that would take time away from the tech where he would otherwise be earning money working on other cars.

Its the standard equipment on the car that i need out, should that information not already be known, its like saying that the mechanic needs to diagnose how to unintall the factory stereo, even if i have after market speakers installed.. I can understand diagnoses if a new stereo was being installed.

I also understand time is money, but diagnosing an after market alarm that has very little to do with the factory alarm and is not being toughed seems overkill... \

An aftermarket alarm works independintly of a factory alarm, hench why people get them in cars that have no alarm in them... the only thing that i can think of that the alarm has in conection with the factory one is the door actuators, and head lights

And seeing as you are an acura mechanic (I know their not identical, but alot of cross knowledge base).. are you able to awnser whether the alarm can be disabled..

You had to have a special alarm, so if you can't do it yourself, pay the man. Tight ***.

sorry if im grinding techs the wrong way NOT my intention,, but a paging alarm is in mine and possibly alot of other a better alarm system... Paying the same price to have the honda alarm to be uninstalled as the viper cost to buy and install seems rediculus..
I would pay for diagnoses but it does not seem like a factory unistall needs diagnoses, like mentiond, the alarms are independent, independent sensors, horns, power, remotes, i dont see a need for diagnosing a part that just need removing...

Please edjucate me as to why its needed becuase the awnser evades me..If i know why a diagnoses is nessasary i may be more willing to pay / easily would be willing to pay

Just a little help here plz

There is no doubt that it is possible to disable the alarm. He is not going to tell you how to do it without charging you for the information. I know that's what you want him to do, but it's not going to happen.

Thats really all i wanted to know,, he played it off like he didnt know how to do it he was even going to hand me some wirering diagrams.. I have no probs paying him for work or knowledge (actually I perfer to pay for both, but more so the work cars are no longer a carbarator, spark plugs, pistons, and some fluid lines), I dont touch eletrical stuff in the car myself..knowing me i would some how hook up the heater dial to the freakn brake lights (though it would be fun to mess with tailgaters that way)

Thanks for telling me it is posible, thats all i really needed. If you understand i just didnt want to pay for "training" on somthing he should already know seeing as the alarms are the same on all SE 02's ...

Now i hope it just dosent cost me $300.00 to get it done

I can't post anymore,,, so i was just going to say THANKS.. .. now its back to the hockey games...

also remember that the aftermarket pager alarm you have installed may be spliced into the factory alarm, which makes things a little complicated..... what with repairing wire connections via solder and shrink wrap.
