"i tried search, it is not working at the moment" Heat from rims
Ok so i drive my accord for about half hour.
1999 Ex 4 Cyl
I get out and touch the front rims to see if they are hot and they are?
Why is this?
Wheeling bearings going bad?
Brake calipers sticking?

Rumor has it that by driving in reverse, you can make the rear wheels get hot too!!
Seriously, applying the brakes generates friction between the brake pads, and the brake rotors they clamp to. this mechanical energy is converted to radiant energy in the form of heat; which is disipated thru both the brake caliper, rotors and the wheels. Yes, the wheels.

Ok i understand the whole brakes/friction thing. The rim seemed hotter than normal.
As for me being an idiot, maybe sometimes. No for real i checked out the front brakes and as it turned out one of the calipers was sticking.
Thanks for the help and insults.

usually if the brake stick theres a shake in the steering wheel cause the rotors would warp. usually. sometimes though it seems like nothing happens and the brakes still stick.
as for the rest of you guys, you guys are nuts. haha.
