Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
Hydraulics are good and bad IMO. Ive had both as well and I must say that Hydraulics are hit or miss. My cousin and I both had the same Pro-Hopper kit and his seals in his cylinders kept blowing out, his keyway broke a few times and of course the selenoid's kept frying due to the 48v running through them.
I on the other hand had great luck, seals NEVER went up, batteries last as long as you dont **** with them every other minute, I did however have to replace 3 of the six selenoid's I had because we never went to the more expensive block type. The only thing that got me once was a check valve. Well that, and a hose popping off in the rear spewing about 3qt's of oil all over everything. Thats the biggest worry people have and why they choose Air over Hydro. It can get messy, you need multiple batteries (if you want it to lift fast), oil leaks, and not the mention cost of cutting and replacing a line.. Mine were 110$ each going to the front! Granite if I would of ran them through a hole with a gromet I would of been fine.
All in all id say go with Hydraulics. FTW! Go hard or go home! As they say in the Minitruckn world air is for pussies! Hahaha

Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
what i'm worried About:
weight in trunk
dampening of hydro
oil
i'm all about being low, ride height can be determined off preference, ok planning on running drop spindles again, i'm just worried they will pinch the bags. airlift provides an assortment of parts and their air over struts now are dampening adjustable and from the cars running air they seem to get pretty low. not like I would be driving it on full dump but I understand once the air pressure is released car will probably drive like ****. i understand they might have cut things but all in all it gets the job done. too bad you can't get a sleeve type bag and run a hybrid suspension for Honda.
i'm worried about trunk space as well, air ride only consists of 2 compressors, valves and a tank. looking at hydro i see a bunch of batteries and extra lines. maybe i'm just going for the luxury of simplicity and parts availability and price.
not knocking on hydro, its just too much and scared about pouring oil every where. i can deal with air leaks.

Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
After working with hydraulics everyday, i can tell you that both air and hydraulics have their advantages and disadvantages.
With the possibility of unforseen problems, hydraulics tend to require more of an upkeep to them. Seals for both systems are relativly cheap.
Personally, im doing air. Its cleaner.

Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
^ loving the tails.
as for the air ride, what would i look into for quiet dump? i hate the loud purge the valves make at full drop/lift.
i've looked into
air runner(too expensive, high quality)
air Rex (not many feed backs for honda)
air lift (well established, you can piece together kit)
i'm on the verge in piecing together a kit, and for my budget/availability. air lift has been on top, i can purchase front kit and rear for 500 each ontop of an air management system which you can choose to buy else where. i understand the hydro setup can be great for its purpose but i prefer the cleanliness of the air ride. I'd like to learn more, airsociety.com only helps so much.
