I added some EF9 moldings to my FS thread, check it out. More parts will be up as soon as I can figure out what they're worth.

Re: (HatchMo)
I'll be labeled a sell out, but I can't justify dumping the amount of money into this car it will take to get it even running ($12k+++). I've reached a point in my life where I realized it's irresponsible to spend my money that way.
I could afford to finish it, but I'll never recoup most of it. Owning a house for my family to live in, investing in an IRA/401k is wiser in the long run. I want a fenced back yard where I can spend time with my daughter and the next child (a recent development, new baby due in April). I'll always be an EFer at heart, I still have the 4 door after all. That's a car I can actually drive and enjoy.
Honestly, I think I was trying to fill a void with this car. I had no choice, but to part with my AP1 and I never got over that car.
Sorry to disappoint.

i understand. the house and fenced yard are what i have for my 2 little ones. and once your's is born in april they will be about the same age spread as mine. it's good to get ahead of the curve on thinking ahead. my 401k and the house are probably the only 2 wise financial decisions i have made in a long time. the house is kind of a double edged sword though. you always end up spending more on it than you anticipate in repairs etc. i put a new roof on mine last fall and need a enw garage door this week. i need to finish my landscaping/yardwork. the siding/soffet/fascia is a whole other story. the house replaced the cars. the major difference is a fixed up house will give you a return on investment unlike a fixed up car. i was lucky to break even on all my ef stuff from over teh years.

I will be content with repairing something that is increasing in value.
Once we are situated in a long term home I will reevaluate . Renting is a ridiculous waste if I can afford a mortgage.
With just a few minor changes I can have the DD right where I want it, so it's not like I'm logging out for good or anything like that.

I could have both and get by just fine, we've been extremely blessed financially as of late, but the fact remains that it's a bad investment on my part when 3 other lives are directly affected by it.
Ultimately, things that matter will prevail over those that really don't.

Re: (STREETWERKZ)
Got in late on this convo, not sure if I'm on the right direction here. LOL
Everyone has their own reason for loving EFs or any car for that matter. To me, it was my first car that I actually loved fixing up. The CRX Si was the car that was new at the time when I was in High School going to car shows and dreaming of what car my parents would help get for me. haha.
Like the previous generations with their 57 Chevys, and 65 Mustangs, to me it was the 88-91 CRX.
If I had enough space, I'd have 4-5 different CRXs to fix up the way I want. SOHC All Motor, SOHC Turbo, H22 All Motor, B-series Turbo and a bone stock one. haha. Well 3 out of 5 aint bad...

It's about the same way for me right now. After some close calls with paying rent/tuition over the EF (I mean I literally sold my complete/mint projector foglights the day rent was due); I realized that the EF would have to sit until better times...since then I've been putting away little by little over the months and now I almost have enough to fully rebuild it again . Do what I did and throw a few bucks a week towards the EF somewhere safe and don't touch the car at all. Trust me, in a year or so you'll see how much you've saved/can finally realize the project and finish the car .
Best of luck with whatever decision you make .

Re: (1989CivicSi)
You can tell who the "old guys" are in here. lol. I too have been debating selling my EF project, because we are going to have a baby in April as well. But for now, I would like to finish it up, since I never seem to finish my projects. All I really have left to spend money on is the paint. Everything else has been paid for.

I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want to keep the shell. Realistically, I probably can't get back what I put in it, with the fab and all, so I might as well hang on to it. I might just lock it up in storage somewhere and let it sit for a year or two.
I know getting into a house will be expensive. We're going to need a lawn mower and things like that just to be able to maintain the place. I'm confident the smartest thing to do would be get all of that straitened out before dumping a ton into a car/hobby.
I'm looking forward to the day I can purchase a Honda with a red valve cover, then take it home to cut the grass.

Just make sure you stick in this forum and dont pull a chad .
Either way you got your head on right and moving in the right direction, you should of just swapped a motor in the hb and not made it a huge project, but oh well

I'm not going anywhere. I've still got the sedan. It's just what I needed, something that needs very little work.

Yeah, the initial plan was to just swap in a K and drive it, but it's all or nothing with me, usually. That's my wife's biggest complaint about me, it's always all or nothing. Something I need to work on, perhaps.
