Welcome! Which one is in better shape? I like my LX because I don't have to worry about rain ever entering my car and it weighs less. I'm sure I would love a sunroof if I had one, though. If you like the roof, keep the EX. If you never use it, go for the LX.

lol toti in d house
sold his s2k and bought 2 sedans.
now he can sit 10 people vs only 2 in d convertible haha
sell me one pare once u decide which one to keep
rain through a properly working sunroof might seem far-fetched. haven't had that problem in my em1 or my 4dr ex. first of all, if water comes through dripping like a **** from the sunroof, then there is a problem with the equipment, not because it has a sunroof. the seals might be done for, mounting brackets might be loose, or simply the mechanism was not fully shut.
i haven't taken one apart but dont those things have drain channels too?

^This. You can also swap parts back and forth if needed to make one much more preferred than the other.
I have an LX and I would choose it over a EX any day. More headroom and no worries of ever leaking.

Yeah. The Honda ones don't actually seal to the roof, they have a drainage system that runs down the four pillars and out behind each wheel.

thats what i thought (drains )
but like i said, who here has had problems with leakage?
mind you my em1 used to be my brother's since day 1 so i know it was almost always parked outside for several years under extreme cali weather ( ). the only thing that went loose was a bracket bolt but still, no water in the cabin.
my ek hatchbacks, when i had both, always had water in the trunk after a downpour.
now that was disappointing

Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
Many cases where people have water intrusion are usually related to how the car is parked. People who live in high areas often have to park at an incline where the drain system of the car is less efficient and can be missed completely. There are also cases where the drains become blocked and lose their function, the next reasonable place for the water to fall is on your seat or floorboard. Though drains exist within the body of your car to evacuate any water the seals failed to prevent from intruding, that water is still in your car, in the drains. It takes time to fully evaporate and is an area of increased wear and possible corrosion due to water and elements. With sunroofs comes the potential for water intrusion. It is important to always keep seals in proper condition and ensure the drains are free in cases where the seal fails.

Hey guys check this out i was browsing online and found this
JDM Honda Access Trash Box. Designed and fit any Civic 88-00 Interiors.
interesting and pretty nice item ...but in my opinion it would block access in my rear seats. IT WOULD BE UNCOMFORTABLE TO GO TRU.
Just though i should share....i have never seen this... lol
