I filled up the other day $3.66/gal. I think 93 octane is going for 3.95 now.
I was just wondering if the springs would work (a really nice ride height) on my koni's so I could sell the GC springs/sleeve setup. Kind of like using ITR springs, but S2k instead.

Wait...you really did that?! I switched out my friends S2K suspension a few months ago and thought about seeing if his suspension would fit mine. Did you use both the strut and spring or just try the springs?

Stock S2000 springs will not work on civic shocks. The spring seat is too big. You have to use S2000 shocks. You could POSSIBLY use civic Koni yellows with S2000 koni yellow spring cups. But I'm not sure if the diameter of Koni yellows is the same for S2000s as it is for civics.
Front S2000 shocks won't fit the EM1 chassis. So you'd have to rely on the Koni trick for this.
S2000s come with pretty nice spring rates and stuff.....but if you were going that far, what is the point? lol. You could just use custom rate ground controls for way less hassle if you already have Konis.
Here's a few pics of how it worked out.
Side to side comparison of how similar the shocks are (tokico quality has really gone down. all the paint flaked off the shock within a few weeks. That RUSTED *** shock is only like 11 months old...if that):
You have to use civic upper mounts. You have to break off the 19mm welded on nut from the S2000 shocks. It's easy. Put an impact on it for 2 seconds and it snaps right off.
You then just use the regular 14mm (M10? or 12?) civic suspension bolts and a nut on the other side.
You also need to use extra washers up on the top mount nut in order to tighten the upper mount bushings. The S2000 shock shafts are longer than the EM1 shafts.
Besides that, I had to remove the caliper covers as they rubbed the shocks. Again, from my experience, this really isn't worth it. I was originally doing this just to do it and because I wanted a better set of shocks for free lol.
My S2000 has been on KW V3s since forever...and the stock S2000 shocks have just been sitting around. So I figured "why not"? The ride was HORRIBLE. There's too much damping. The advantage, however, is that the damper is a shorter body than the regular civic/integra shocks...so you get a shorter stroke of travel....and monotube external reservior dampers that are very well tuned and CHEAP.
However, with stock EM1 or stock replacement front shocks, the car will keep see-sawing on every bump. It was the WORST ride. If I had stiffer front shocks/springs, it would have kept the car in line better. But who buys just 2 performance shocks just so they can shoe horn in some rear S2000 shocks? Crazy people.

KW has always made great suspension stuff.I had two vdubs in the past with their stuff but its been years. How is the ride quality now?I know back a few years their suspension had a really wide range of damping and rebound so it could be adjusted for a comfortable ride and then switched over to a pretty aggressive setup for the track.

It's around $4-4.20 for regular in the chicago burbs right now. In the city it's about 20-30 cents more.

Costco gas stations with a Costco American express is the way to go. It's usually like 20 cents cheaper per gallon AND you get 3% cash back. Can't lose.

I DD my civic (107K), but I also take my 92 S-10 4.3L Chevy (155K) out from time to time. My wife daily's her 96 Accord. 203K miles on it and it is bone stock. She just replaced her shocks a few months ago and stuck with OEM. I almost got her to get some Koni's, but oh well.

damn that's awesome. hopefully my future girly will have that same honda love. so far, all the ones that i have met are into luxury vehicles and my city is infatuated with luxury or high end sport cars.
well my daily is a 2005 V6 accord sedan and although it doesnt help on gas when it comes to street driving it sure is a relief everytime i go out and not have to worry about my car being tampered with.
Oh and referring to WANTBOOST's comment about sharing things with females... i am all with you on that! lol. i remember my ex from 5 years ago when she tried to drive my EM1 and reversed right into a big *** boulder at the park. lol
