Weld Request: Mussel Gaff
Mussel gaffs are not sold in stores and are made by welders. The purpose of them are to pick mussels from piers. I am willing to negotiate a price. Here are some details of how they are constructed and some sample pics as well.

2. metal washer to act as a base for the spikes/hooks - welded to the bottom of the bolt.
3. spikes 8-10 evenly spaced nails at a 45 degree angle from the base
normally range from 5-15lbs
</TD></TR></TABLE>
thanks HT

right. you hoist the gaff down with the rope into the piling, hook the mussels, and hoist it back up

Ditto, doesnt look like the parts would be difficult to obtain, nor fabricate for that matter. Good luck

Only once you get it outta the water
You do want it to be pretty heavy though, waiting for things to sink sucks. Especially in a current.
