Default Birth of a new Beast, BilletPro

This will be a informal picture log of our upcoming, newly revamped BilletPro

We have quite a few to make. Picking up more material today....

One in the machine being finished up.

All done

That's alot of shavings!

Some upclose pictures to show the detailed machining.

Keep in mind an engine is not a steady state system, but your work seems to be more than most do.

Looks good, have you tried it with a throttle body on there though? The higher gas speed hurts you to cylinder 4 sometimes.

That airspeed is normal/slow. You often see over 300 in certain parts of the system.

Is this going to be a production piece? IE more than 10? Why not stamp the plenum instead?

I was wondering this as well.

With all that machining. Couldn't you just make a die and then stamp them? Or is there an added benefit to having a machined piece that I'm not seeing?

Because we like being unique
Why be another guy with another part just like the others?

What were the boundary conditions on the inlet and outlets? Pressures? mass flow? How did you come up with these?

Is there more to the model that is not shown?

I guess, just a lot more time for the same result. (milling vs stamping-the plenum)
