Transmission intermittently slipping/jerking issue 96 accord wagon. Help/suggestions?
Hey, I'm back on the forums yet again with a question for you guys.
I own a 96 honda accord lx wagon. 2.2l 4cyl, auto 4 speed tranny. About 162300miles.
A few weeks ago, heading home, noticed that when I accelerated from a light, the car felt like it was gripping and sliding on and off if I pressed the gas too much to accelerate quicker. If I did it gently, didn't happen really. Thought it was the tires slipping in the rain.
Stopped for about a week till the issue came around around again a few times, and happened when I was doing 50-65 ish when trying to accelerate a bit harder.
If I don't try to accelerate as hard, the issue doesn't seem to happen.
It feels like a slip and grab repeatedly feel. Doesn't happen all the time but can notice it happen a few times on occasion when pushing it a little.
Car shifts through all the gears, goes fine to 90mph, just it has that slipping jerking feel on and off a few times on occasion.
There is no blinking d4 light, no check engine light, topped off all my fluids. Fluid looks still somewhat red. Spedometer isnt acting crazy, nor is the rpm. No leaks except for regular engine oil from the valve cover, which has been going for years, slow leak.
Any suggestions on fixing it or what it could be?
TCU? Solenoid/ solenoid filter? VSS? Transmission on its way out?
Really hoping it isn't a tranny dying. Can't afford another tranny or vehicle for a good while unfortunately.
Thanks!

Re: Transmission intermittently slipping/jerking issue 96 accord wagon. Help/suggesti
I had the AC compressor changed a few months back, and the power steering pump a bit after that. Could it be one of those may be binding every so often, causing transmission issue like symptoms?
