2nd to 3rd gear problem

2nd to 3rd gear problem
under normal driving conditons, shifting from 2nd to 3rd is smooth and nice. but when i rev high, need not to be redline revving, mybe like 5k rpm or slightly more or less, shifting 2nd to 3rd gives me some loud noise. of course, its shifting quickly from 2nd to 3rd like ppl usually do when racing. its hard to describe the noise. i tried recording the noise but its not audible in the recording. plus, its not smooth.
what could be the issue? or is it just my shifting skills? but it cant be just my shoifting skills because it does not happen when i shift through the other gears. no problems from 1st to 2nd, 3rd to 4th n 4th to 5th. only 2nd to 3rd. appreciate some input here.

What year Ford T5 World Class?
Or is it a Scion/Camary?
Yugo/Fiat?
LHD or RHD?
See my point, I'm guessing due to your lack of info. I have to ***-U-ME it is a Honda-Acura product, but you never know.

Re: 2nd to 3rd gear problem
Its probably a grind sound. That will indicate it may have a worn sleeve, gear or synchro..possibly all of them. 3rd gear grind is common in B-Series transmissions. Only way to properly remedy it is by getting the transmission opened, inspected and repair what is bad. You will hear people say to try synchromesh fluid...yeah it may mask the issue but, will cause more damage in the long run. Bandaids don't last forever If you need any help..feel free to hit me up. Good luck!

Re: 2nd to 3rd gear problem
Sounds like what was happening to me a while back. It was ONLY 2nd to 3rd under pretty heavy load. It was a "thunk" noise, sorta deeper and a 1 sound type of sound, not like a grind where it's KKKKKKKEEEK at a higher pitch.
Try driving it at a pretty good clip and downshift into 3rd then into 2nd and make sure you do your rev-matching (proper) downshift.... does it go into gear easily? But then it won't go up so nice? That was the deciding factor.
Be warned in a period of 2 days I went from "hmmm, that's fu'd ... something is up with 3rd gear" ... to today "hmmmm... now it won't go out of gear at all" .... talked to a few friends of mine that KNOW stuff, they say clutch.
I seemed to get this dianostic info; if it's all your gears that you're having problems with, upshifting is bad, downshifting is good (matching rev's of course) then it's clutch. If it's only 1 gear then it's more likely the tranny.
... not sure of all this info, but it's worth checking out what happens when you downshift properly....
