Tranny Question
I am in the process of laying out a plan to build a street class all-motor car and I wanted some advice on a transmission. Basically what id like to know is what would be the ideal mph for a street class car? Ideally you do not want to shift into 5th so only really considering up to 4th gear, what would you suggest with 8500rpm redline and tires no larger than 10.5" wide and Max tire height allowed is 28inches? I wanna put together a tranny setup that will be ideal for my goal and not just get the best oem tranny that is close to my needs.
Also the tires must be DOT approved but your allowed to run slicks with 150 pound weight penalty, is it worth it to take the penalty to run slicks?

wrong. Didn't you see the post in the all motor forum that told everyone to post their tranny questions in this forum?
for figuring out your gearing we need three things:
1. redline
2. desired tire diameter
3. what speed you will be trapping at.

-redline im thinking 8000-8500rpm
-I listed the max above and if i can use the max size with the power ill hopefully be putting down then I will use it so i guess use the max as the tire size(200+ whp)
-Im not sure what speed I will be trapping at but was hoping to base it off a competitive street class all-motor car
