Recently my parents sold their 5th Wheel Travel Trailer and purchased one of these beauties:
2008 Fleetwood Expedition
After a couple trips they have decided that they want to tow another vehicle along with them, as sitting around the RV park grows pretty old. Their preferred method of towing is something RV folk refer to as towing "4 Wheels Down" which as implied, means a direct connection of the tow vehicle to the RV WITHOUT
the use of a trailer. Onto my questions:
Which moderately priced Honda vehicles are capable of being towed this way and why?
Is there any potential damage that can be caused to the transmission/differential/etc by towing in this manner?
There are various products you can buy to disconnect the drive shaft of RWD vehicles, and electric pumps you can add to automatics so they can be towed and whatnot but the folks aren't trying to mod their 07 BMW in any way nor entertain the idea of towing it anywhere for that matter.
Any input you guys can provide would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for looking!
