Speedmonkeyinc.com's project S-13 starto!
My buddy bought an 89 240 hatch and planned to swap a SR20 in it at some point, well the car broke down and we ripped off the head to find the water jackets were clogged, bad news, time to swap!
We went on over to a shop in San Fransisco named R-Crew racing (www.rcrewracing.com) and picked up a S-13 front clip that had just gotten in that day, a package deal with 40xxx on the engine, a LSD, JDM gauge cluster and a couple other goodies for $2200, they are really nice and say if we have any trouble or if anything doesn't work they'll hook us up, great prices on all their stuff and friendly guys, it was in a front end collision so the radiator and intercooler will have to be replaced, not a problem.
we put wheels on the front of the clip and rollder it into the garage...
Now time to get to work, updates will come as things go wrong, we did a little prayer to the clip and car just for no stripped nuts and bolts, wish us luck!
STARTO! :D
2nd Stage
We started the work yesterday and pulled the KA out of the 240...what a POS, we're keeping a good pace and its a lot of fun
There was a hole in his muffler...lmao
Today, clean the engine bay and start to work on lifting the SR...
3rd Stage
We got to work on the clip today, we used a sawzall and went through teh entire front of the clip
It made it much easier to pull out...
When we finally got the engine out we found out where the turbo powah comes from, there was a small asain boi Eating pho in the engine bay...
Now since Daniel sold his GSXR we have some money to buy a ACT clutch, oem waterpump, koyo radiator, Nismo motor mounts, Apex'i GT spec exhaust, HKS front mount/Downpipe/Hotpipe w/BOV, and some belts, hoses, oil filter, fuel filter, and stuff
Stage 4 FINAL STAGE!
All the parts came and we started throwing them on...when we went to replace the clutch we had the flywheel resurrfaced as well.
Nice new ACT clutch...
Did a lot of cleaning to get the bling going...
Took off the old oil pan and put on the nice new trust pan with cool little hindged doors...
A BIG box came...
The difference is slight ...lol
And another fancy box...
And a nice new trust turbo extension....
Time to shove the SR in there...he bought some nice new nismo SR mounts....
they don't feel like jelly when you poke um
In you go!
Nice new koyo radiator...
Had to re-locate the battery and punch a hole through the tray for the intercooler piping
Got a nice hotpipe with attached HKS BOV...
ummm yeah that looks sick....
Front clip came with a blitz sus air filter, a little banged up but hey its top-o-the-line
Put the fat can on...
Did a little wiring harness splicing, hooked everything back in, connected te driveshaft, put oil in it, and it started right up!
So...what else...he started slanging at the infineon raceway drift exabition!
Everything was a complete sucess and it's been running great for over a month now,DSPEED installed some JIC coilovers and is slowly putting more $$ into it!
:D

Nice!
Have fun relocating the throttle cable.
I find SR20 swaps more fun then B-series.
Best of luck.

We're going to put on a FMIC, nice big radiator, downpipe and straightpipe before the engine is in. He wants to run 10 psi instead of the stock 7, so he's looking into the equvilent of hondata I guess (Im not a nissan guy really), and a bigger ball bearing turbo. We have a lot in store for this thing, you should see the stock turbo its like a WRX it looks like a cute little snail.

go with the greddy emanage if u can't find any other options for managment. the Emanage and the E-01 work great together and u can tune the Emanage just like a stand alone.
also get a tubular stainless manifold and a bigger turbo if your ganna run 10psi, that way u get atleast 10hp per psi.

Im not sure if he's going to replace trubo/manifold before we throw it in, he already has to buy all that above and a clutch and other odds and ends, he's selling his GSXR 600 to pay for all the parts, we will see, I'll talk to him about his fuel plans...and how he plans to up the boost on stock parts

I hear good things about Stillen reprogramed silvia ecu's. Works with big boost and Ford Mustang MAF Sensors/bigger injectors (which you'll need if you're going over stock boost).

So true, that stock T25 is alright till about 14lbs. I would just upgrade to a SC61 thats what my friend did. You can push alot of boost with that as you probably already know.

yeah we were thinking of just buying the s-15 ball bearing but its far to expensive for what you get, so like with my gsr application I think we'll buy a blown turbo for cheap and rebiuld, this is in the long run though, a lot has to happen first. I've asked him about fuel managment and he's told me he'll get a apex'i s-afc and just tune off the stock ecu until he has money for the f-con unit ($$$ )

We just have to extend a few wires and cut a few plugs off the original harness and splice them in the SR harness, not big deal with the wiring

Along with the new block Im installing Trust turbo extension, 80 mm SS DP and straight pipe, Apexi GT-spec exhaust, used Blitz SUS filter, Koyo Alum. radiator, Trust baffled oil pan, Greddy boost gauge, Greddy temp gauge, new water pump. Like the other guy said, the stock turbo is good for about 14psi or so, but I will be running stock boost (or whatever it might be creeping too with the mods I have), untill I can get a BC.

He has a BB center section and a ported hot side, so it will spool pretty quick. Im guessing he will push about 98345 BTU of ramen power.
