Re: Common Honda Bolt thread pitch size dimension
Looking for a few M6 (10mm) nuts.
Where all can I usually find them on a Honda.
I got a parts car Civic sitting around.
No motor, so valve cover nuts are out.
Any where else?

Re: Common Honda Bolt thread pitch size dimension
Looks like I'm late to the party, but, I got one... What is the bolt spec for the Camshaft Position Sensor on 01-05 Civic? I seem to have dropped mine...into the LCA. Makes things a little tricky.

I'm putting this in here cause it sees the most traffic, but it does pertain to civics, (as well as all hondas) I can't beileve there's not one of these threads already that's stickied.
Please help me fill in the blanks and or correct me if I'm wrong. Honda uses some weird sizes. I had to specially order a M14-1.5 nut for example. Also, do they all tend to share the same thread pitch? I see M12-1.25 and M12-1.5. I searched for "thread" and got 750 results, I'm not about to sort through 750 threads. I searched for "thread pitch" and it returned 97 results, most of them pertained to specific bolts

Re: Common Honda Bolt thread pitch size dimension
Yes I really need help please if someone knows a way to help me figure out the dimensions for the screws I need to replace my tensioner pulley for a 2000 Honda odyOdys. I took off the old one and misplaced the screws. They are like some type of 8 and 10mm. Please if anyone can help me out it would be so much appreciated....

Re: (Bense) 2000 crv lower alternator bolt ? My daughters is missing completely?
Sorry i lagged but schools been killer. Heres some not so common thread pitches that hondas have and if you ever screw them up is hard to find, so it better to have the correct pitch numbers then send out a stripped bolt asking "can you figure out the thread pitch"
Flywheel bolts (B and D the same, dont know about H and K): M12 x 1.0
Pressure Plate bolts (same b and d dont know about h and k): M8 x 1.25
Oil pan/Trans drain plug: M14 x 1.5
Trans case bolts that hold that little ball bearing in place with spring: M12 x 1.0 (oddly enough this is a hard tap to find, and timesert hasnt even made an insert for it yet so dont screw this one up)
Oil Pressure Sensor (back of block): 1/8 - 28BSP
Bumper screw/bolts: M6 x 1.0
Crank Bolt: M14 x 1.25
14mm Allen Bolt: M28 x 1.5
10mm Allen Bolt: M20 x 1.0
19mm bolt that connects rear trans bracket to trans: M14 x 1.5
If theres any other bolts that people would like to know let me know and ill get you the pitch.

Re: (Prudz_lude)
How long are the bolts typically? I seen M6-1.0 x 12 MM on Amazon. Redoing my engine bay looking to replace with brand new bolts
#190
Re: (Prudz_lude)
In example, even the flywheel/flex plate bolts are different lengths. The automatic has shorter bolts while the manual has a bit longer bolts. Water pump has 3 shorter bolts and 1 longer bolt or vice versa.
Really, the only way to get the right bolt is to order it from Honda if you are after brand new.

Re: Common Honda Bolt thread pitch size dimension
Would anyone happen to have the thread pitch and bolt size for the oil pan? Not the drain plug, but the other bolts. I’ll be replacing mine with the gasket and would like to put new bolts in.

Re: Common Honda Bolt thread pitch size dimension
I have actually spent a fair amount of time on this subject over the last few months. I hit my breaking point earlier in the year when I spent way too much time in my garage looking for an M10x1.25 nut. Since then I have ordered packs of washers and nuts that are most common to what Honda uses. In addition to that, I have ordered ones that are the same width, and that also have their flange nuts.
Here are the sizes, along with the McMaster-Carr part numbers. The first 4 parts are ones that are most common. All of these have heads that are the same width as what Honda uses. If you're like me, you can't stand when a nut that you normally use a 12mm socket on, requires a 13mm. So I've made sure that there's no funky crap in here (i.e. 11mm, 13mm, 15mm, 16mm, 18mm, etc)
M6x1.0 - 10mm - https://www.mcmaster.com/95108A107/
M8x1.25 - 12mm - https://www.mcmaster.com/95108A103/
M10x1.25 - 14mm - https://www.mcmaster.com/95108A105
M12x1.25 - 17mm - https://www.mcmaster.com/95108A104
I have had a few instances where I've needed an M14x1.5, so I'm adding these two.

Obviously, these aren't the only possible options. Additionally, you should know that Honda uses distorted thread lock nuts for things like suspension fork bolts.
