With a code p1457 you are most likely looking at a failed two way bypass solenoid. I have diagnosed and replaced many of these little bastards. You only need to do a few checks and you can narrow the problem down. First off use a scan tool to turn the solenoid on and off. If the solenoid does not click then unplug the electrical conector and with the solenoid in the powered mode test to make sure that you have 12v and a ground. If you are missing the 12 and or ground then i am sorry to say but your ecm has been smoked also. next i would put 12v to the soenoid and try to trip it on and off. if it doesnt trip on and off then you will have to replace the solenoid. I live in the salt/ snow belt so I have never been able to seperate the solenoid and valve assembly, I have always had to replace them both as a pair. Hopefully you will be able just to replace the eletrical portion.
Evap problems suck but with the correct info they are easy to solve.
