I got a 99 b18c1 w/ OBD1 p72 in my 95 vx... and the CEL comes on. Not ALL the time though, just sometimes when i let go of the gas and let the engine decelerate on its own, or when i downshift to slow down. When I shut the car off and turn it back on immediatley, the CEL goes away. Once the car is restarted the CEL doesnt come back on. It only comes on SOMETIMES when the car has been cold, and i start it up, and downshift or let go of gas. I shorted my ECU to see if the code was stored in the memory, but all that comes up is a rapidly blinking SRS light, and a slower blinking CEL. The CEL blinks about every 4 secs, and doesnt stop, the blinks are very short. Can anybody tell me whats going on with me CEL, and if the blinking SRS and CEL are normal if there are no codes being thrown? Thanks a lot...

count the cel blinks
a long blink means 10
a short blink means 1

so if its
long long short
its code 21.

and the code repeats itself

i just get one short blink every 4 seconds, and it doesnt stop, i watched the damn light for 10 minutes, and it didnt stop. the SRS light also blink, about every sec, and that one doesnt stop either, is the blinking of both lights normal?

I've the same problem, because my O2 is at wrong location. It is suppose to be in frot of the CAT, I've it behind the CAT. How about yours?

my o2 sensor is right BEFORE the cat, and i have a 96 cat, but i welded the two holes shut. There is no other plugs or wires to plug anymore o2 sensors in on my engine harness. The o2 sensor matched up perfect with my engine harness.

i have the exact same problem with my car...i have a 92 vw with a 98 b18c1. i check the code and get CEL code 41, which is the o2 sensor heater. i swapped out the o2 sensor and still have the same problem. i cant rev over 3k rpm. can some1 please help..?
