Air Conditioning help! Compressor not engaging!
My setup:
- 2000 Civic DX
- JDM GSR engine
- JDM ITR P73 ECU
- complete AC system from 2000 Civic Si
Condensor fan is running...when i pushed the AC button, ONLY the condensor fan relay will click but not the compressor relay. I tried shorting out the pressure switch to see if it's a pressure issue with on luck. From reading the circuit diagram, only the ECU controls the grounding of compressor relay. Since i am running a JDM ITR ECU, could there be something with the computer that is causing it not to work? I know some of the earlier JDM ITR did not come with AC.....any advice will be helpful.

is there enought pressure in it. Bypass the pressure switch and hit the button then if it turns on, there is not enough refrigerant in it.

Use a test light or voltmeter to see if power is being applied to the compressor. Then you can at least know if a signal is being generated. Have you tried to actuate the compressor with a jumper wire? On my GSR both fans come on, does the wiring diagram show anything aobut them being on different circuits?

That is what i am stumped about! The JDM ITR ECU, supposely, wire A17 from the ECU is ACC (ac compressor clutch) which is the signal that trips the compressor relay.....and when i measured it with a volt meter, there is no signal. Something is not right with the ECU or the way JDM ITR ECUs operate AC is a ltitle different. Anyone has experience with a JDM ITR ECU?

no....it did not. I just added the system myself.

That's just it! The switch is not grounding the relay tripping the compressor power soruce. For some reason, the ECU won't do it....dunno why.

Re: Air Conditioning help! Compressor not engaging! (Petah)
Fro those who cares, those who helped, and for the future dare devil that is going to install AC, i finally got around to working on the car again and found my problem. Here it is:
It was so simple, yet so stupid! All thanks to honda Quality control! The problem lies within the underdash fuse/relay box. Basically, the worker who asembled my car shoved one of the plugs into the bottom of the fuse box "the redneck way" bending the AC compressor pin. There was no contact all along hence no signal to the AC compressor! Tested for continuity and found the problem! So much for honda QC! But i am happy that it works!! Thanks to those who helped!
