HID retrofit questions....
alright so i did my HID retrofit for my 98 integra headlights.... i used 04 Acura TL projectors..... these also have high beams built in.... now my question is how is everybody sealing the rear of the light where that plastic boot used to be??? mines no where near close to fitting back on.... also.... for the high beam on these projectors i just want to double check... all i gotta do is give 12V to the high beam switcher thing right?

does your low beam stay on with high beam??
http://www.hidplanet.com/forum...=6612
if low beam stays on with high beam, yes you can just connect the high beam to the solenoid to activate high beam...otherwise you need to make wire harness or you can order from one of these people that make harness...
It's not hard to make a harness, I made one myself....but to me it is not worth time and effort to save few dollars...I would rather order one as well...

yes my low beam stays on with my high beams... i assumed that the solenoid worked off 12v so i hooked up the wires to my high beam socket without having a bulb in the highbeams... and the solenoid started to smoke..... it did switch but it switched super hard so im beginning to think it might be designed to run on lower voltage?? it still works i tested it with a 9- volt and it works fine... but it still seems like the solenoid heats up alot....

towards middle of the page, linuxglobal uses TL projector as well and others that use TL projector as well...same thing that you are doing...
but you dont have a wire harness...i would ask the people that actually used that projector....but you must use wire harness...
I am using FX projector and using wire harness...

awsome just one question.... i understand the diode... but whats the purpose of the harness and relay? shouldnt the hids be fine connected directly to the lowbeam connector on the car?
i've actually had them on there for a while... but w/ the stock headlights...

all circuits has inrush currents....the HID draws more than double or triple the in-rush current compared to halogen...
This has been beaten to death 5069345435354 times already...
oh and the image looks familiar right...??

Re: HID retrofit questions.... (toofast4u752)
Back to the original question...these folks are confusing you I am sure.
To activate the solenoid of the bixenon simply tap that into the highbeam wires. In doing so you keep the highbeam highs, while the TL highbeams are engaged.
As far as sealing up the back, it all depends on the room, and personal preference. One option is to use clear silicone, and another is to use Nissan OEM headlight/taillight sealant; comes in a roll. Or use PVC piping, fiber glass, use carbon fiber....etc.
All the other diagrams are good for a H4 setup, which you don't have, so the info I gave you is all you need.
