Got ripped of by Xentec..
Okay so I bought a Xentec HID kit from ebay, installed a wiring harness so I can get enough juice to the ballast so they don't fail. Well it worked pretty good for a week and a half then one of them always flicker and go out
I contacted the seller and he told me to send them back. Plus the ad said theres a "2 YEAR WARRANTY" on the kit. I sent them back, waited about 3 weeks it still didn't come, I tried contacting the seller at least 20+ times even tried calling him. He doesn't respond to me at all anymore after I told him I sent the kit back.
I tried contacting him for about 2 weeks now, and I'm thinking its impossible for me to do anything about it. so Im moving on, Im done with xentec, anyone got any decent brand HID kit that will last me at least 6 months? im looking to spend 60-80.
thanks alot.

Re: Got ripped of by Xentec..
my Xentec kit was defective out of the box, I had it professionally installed so I was BEAT for the money i spent on the install. This was this past monday. I'm REALLY mad. What seller did you use? I'm in the same bind as you are. I had to file a paypal claim to get anywhere. He said he'd send me another kit but im not sure if I even wanna install this POS replacement IF it ever arrives. I'm with you, I'm OK with spending a little more money for more quality, ANYONE have any suggestions? Bump!!!!

Don't buy off ebay ? We use a company that is local to us, so warranties are never an issue. The guy comes in weekly to restock, and take anything back if needed. Contact me if you want more info on the kit.

Re: Got ripped of by Xentec..
hmm, both accounts ending with 88. dont buy from the company? maybe its just a basement company? any xentec dist. with a number ending with 88 is prolly the guy so just avoid that.
hid's on the roadways are just as annoying as an suv right behind u. theyr blinding and unless u have projectors your wasting money. Go with stock of clear-white bulbs. Its just as nice but not blinding and obnoxious. Nor is it a waste of money.

Re: Got ripped of by Xentec..
or you can go with real hid kits, from honda-tech sponsors. . . 114$ for hassle-free lifetime warranty, full hid kits sounds good 2 me, rather than paying 24$ + s/h for every p.o.s cheap hid kit out there, and then losing 10$ for every shipment back.

Re: Got ripped of by Xentec..
proof that cheap HID kits are a POS. Not to mention HID with stock Civic headlight optics is soooooooooooo bad
Retrofit projectors or nothing IMHO.

Re: Got ripped of by Xentec..
and to be 100% honest, honda civics (refering to eg models and some ek), looks terribly ugly with retrofits. The headlight style isn't made to have a giant magnifying bulb plopped into it. Its just not right and makes it look rice. Leave hid's to the pro's and oem-spec cars
