Default Brake Lights STAY ON.

ok so i just got my dc2 integra. and the rear lights didnt work at all. so i went through fuses and replaced some and the rear lights worked and so did the brake lights. but the brake light stays on ALL THE TIME, even when the car is turned OFF! i have to disconnect the battery to make them go off. does any one have any idea why this is happening?
