H22 problems on friends ride
Ok my buddy has a usdm h22a1, anyways a week ago he got an oil change done at a shop and they forgot to add the little lubricant called OIL that motors need. He drove the car around for about 2 days until he noticed. Anyways motors fine, not ticking or anything like that but since then it seems like when you try to start the car its got no compression, it will crank then tottally stop, then crank then stop then finally start. We had removed his started and had it checked and its fine, batterys fine, alts fine etc, etc. Could his motor maybe semi seized? motors runs normal but seems a bit slower he said then before. Another thing is he over revved the motor to 8500 one day when he missed a gear. Now what im thinking is maybe when he over reved he blew the head gasket? any maybe its losing compression in the one cylinder so when its on that cylinder and trying to start theres no compression. make any sence? cars not overheating tho but his coolant resovoir keeps going empty. Car puffs a bit of white also

i highly doubt they did not put any oil back into the engine. the oil light would have been on. either way they owe him a new engine if they didnt put oil in the car. he'll have to prove some how they messed up. most oil change places will show you the dipstick after the oil change.

thats what i said to him, i asked if they showed him the dipstick and he said no. The car is not making any noises and runs smoothly, it just feels like its lost some power and it has the weird starting issues. Also he said the starting issues only occur if the car sits for a few days without being started, if its been driven around etc it will start right back up fine. Could the headgasket be blown and its loosing all compression in the one cylinder when it sits for to long hence why it needs a few strokes before it starts up? or is it possible the motor is semi seized?

SOUNDS LIKE POSSIBLE HEAD GASKET IF LOSSING COOLANT AND PUFFING WHITE SMOKE. NEED TO DO A COMPRESSION TEST AND CYL LEAK DOWN TEST TAKE IT TO A REPUTABLE SHOP AND HAVE THEM DOCUMENT EVERYTHING IF THERE IS A PROBLEM GO BACK TO THE O/C PLACE AND DESPUITE IT. I WORK IN A SHOP MYSELF AND EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES SO THEY SHOULE REPAIR IT FOR YOU. ALSO FOR BEING HARD TO START MAYBEE COOLANT IS FILLING THE CYL AND CAUSING IT TO HYDRO LOCK UNTIL THE COOLANT IS PUSHED OUT LET IT SIT AND PULL THE PLUGS BEFORE STARTING AND LOOK INTO CYLINDERS FOR COOLANT
