17" rim front and 18" rim rear anyone tried?
as per title, anyone try a setup like that? if yes, can you post images. prefer to see it on a lowered S2k.

Let me elaborate more on why I want to know if anyone had tried this setup.
Some aftermarket spring tends to lower the rear just a bit more then the front. With a larger wheel in the rear, I'm assuming would help balance out the drop. A slight increase from the rear would look much better then a saggy rear. lol, don't quote me on that.
Please I don't want to hear about the whole "just go coilover". Not every S2k owner are rich and retired with lots of time in their hand.

replying because looks like everyone is ignoring you. anyhow... my guess about the springs is may be the downforce that plays a part at high speeds- which is why the high end cars yes but they are usually the jgtc race cars. i dunno but for our daily driver cars/ street applications, it may not be the best solution. people here probably just hating cause it looks wierd? whatever... i have never seen one in person nor driven one with that kind of setup. i have never even read about it. i have seen it done in those japanese videos though. so with my extensive background knowledge may be worth something? ....

Another reason to do this is that some wheel company's don't make the correct offsets in one wheel diameter. I have been thinking of running 16x7 fronts 17x7 rears.

The staggered 17-18" sizing looks funny on the s2k because of the wheel base sizes. It suits some cars, like my S14 well. But on some cars it just looks out of place IMO. Most prefer the look of 17's on the S as 18's just look too large. As far as I know, most spring kits for the S2000 have the same drop front and rear. What springs were you considering?

i want to do that with my s2k. i have the yokohama super advan racing version 2 in 18's. i talked to mackin and they said i can go with an aggressive size and offset of 17x8.5 +45 front and 18x9.5 +45 rear with fender rolling. 17x8 +48 front and 18x9 +45 rear without fender rolling. wish i can still do that. super advan version 2 is pretty pricey.

Yeah, maybe if you are at stock ride height. If you are lowered at all, you cannot run a 9"+45 wheel in the rear without rolling your fender and the bare minimum.

all you guys must live in flat areas. over here in atlanta stock height is ideal...pot holes and sewer caps all over in the city- road kill and unusual dips in the roads in the burbs... i dont see how anyone could ride any low. its gambling here on regular streets. and plus these days all the neighborhood these days install guttered out sidwalks where all the driveways has this huge dip. anything over 2 mph expect a premature front bumper relaplacement or dents in exhaust sys etc...
i dunno about these fender rolling and big tires and all...sounds like an expensive and pointless mod unless your actually going out to tracks often. id rather spend that money on a full tank of gas and a gps unit. heh

its relatively cheap to get your fenders rolled. and why not wider tires = biger contenct patch = better handeling. if your happy with stock good for you. but dont say these mods are pointless some/most pple want to improove hadeling and one of the ways to do that is getting a lower offset wheel that is wider too so u can have a wider stance and fit a fat tire. I would rather get my fenders rolled so i can fit wider rims/tires rather than buy a some dumb gps unit that hangs off ur windshield and looks horrid.

I have the setup you're talking about. ap1 with motegi's(came with the car when I bought it ) 17s up front 18s in the rear dropped on Tein springs on Koni shocks. I'll see if I can get a pic for you.
handling feels fine. nice and tight. can't compare to other s2ks cause this is the 1st and only s2k I've driven so far. does scrape the front fenders once and awhile when I'm going fast on curves or taking a turn fast into a driveway.
