Re: ( (S@nt0s)
Ive never written in this thread before. Let me introduce myself. I'm Chris and I am 33 years old. I live by myself, support my self, car, apartment, bills etc.
Since before I can remember, I have always liked performance cars. My mother tells me that as a child (3 years old), she would take me to the store and while she would shop, I would be in the Hot wheels section examining all the cars looking for the right shape, design, wheels, color and then when I would find one, beg her to buy it for me.
My dad was never really into cars, he has always been a computer guy. I learned some things about computers from him but my passion was always cars. My uncles owned nice cars. They had a 79 Trans am, 200SX turbo, 65 mustang and 69 Camaro. To me working on their cars with them was never really work. It was fun. Driving them, figuring out what the parts did, fixing things, getting dirty, that was my cup of tea.
When I got into high school (before the honda scene), I saw the most amazing thing up until that time. These latin and Jamaican guys had these small powerful 4cyl Toyota Starlets, Corollas that would haul ***. They would go into poor areas and find these broken down cars and buy them for like $100. Then they would take them home, modify them in their garage, port their own heads, lighten the cars, swap out the drive trains from japanese trucks to handle the power.
I spent a lot of time hanging around their garages learning. In time I bought two 74 Corollas and stripped them down and built them back up. I had plans for them but college would take priority so they were sold.
In college, the FWD Honda scene blew up. I bought an integra GSR and during my college studies would pass the time building it up and adding turbo. I owned a turbo Honda for 7 years and even through all the trials and tribulations with it, I don't regret the money or time I spent for a second. I would progressively build the car up to be a turbo monster - 14 psi daily, 350 hp but civilized with A/C and full interior.
It unfortunately would be stolen in 2005. My family, wonderful as they are, gave me their pathfinder for really cheap. I drove it for a year but I didnt feel right. I needed a performance car again and I later traded it in on the S2000 that I drive now.
Around my friends and family I am the go to car guy. The guy people ask about cars that are coming out, problems with their own cars, opinions about cars. They ask me because they know thats what I like to do.
Interestingly though my profession is in the legal field, my second passion. I have been an assistant for the district attorney in South Florida for 7 years. I tried getting in to law school but I didn't make a full honest effort. I have no one to blame but myself for not getting in. I will be trying again very soon though. So thats my story.

Welcome fellow suzuka driver.
You have to get the pictures hosted somewhere and then link them over and use bb img tags.
