What type of paint is best suited for your rockers?
I would like to clean up my current rocker covers and perhaps paint them a different colour. What type of paint best bonds to the rocker plastic material? Any special prep i could do to help make sure paint sticks to rockers?

Re: (h2b_eg8)
If he was talking about the Valve Cover that would be ok, and painting it would ok... Then he's only just have the wrong name...
But if he's talking about something else... Then there might be a problem...

the oem side skirts is the best way to describe them. So yes, what type of paint would i use to Paint my Oem side skirts, and what type of prep should i do to the skirts. I have a front fender so having the sides not lowered looks a bit off. I would like to buy some side skirts but im not seeing any for a reasonable price other than off EBAY , which average around 230+$ canadian.

Dang dude, it took you awhile to reply...
I can't help you with the primer/paint myself.. Maybe the Cosmetic Form can help?? Or someone else here...
But uh... You have a front Fender?? That's cool...... Only one...???
You're confusing..

only one? ur confusing also . i have a combat style front fender or body kit is what i meant. So to create an even valance around the car, I wanted to paint my side OEM skirts white to make it appear lower from the sides to match my lower to the ground after market front combat skirt.

Would definitely recommend spraying the skirts with a few layers of primer to really allow the paint to adhere to the skirts; any body/paint place would do this. Finish off with clear coat as always.

Im on employment insurance in school under an apprenticeship. i make *** all cash so to customize my car i need to cut corners. Also, id rather save money for actual performance parts rather than asthetic parts. keep talkin **** though, apparently thats all ur good for punks

yeah well sorry. too many people on here that i notice who arn't really here to help anybody. just here to sh*t on people to make themselves feel cool or whatever/however it makes them feel (btw go back to highschool). i would help anybody who asked any questions, and if i didn't have an answer for them, i wouldn't type anything. And certainly I wouldn't make fun of someone because its not my place to make fun of someone for something they don't understand. my avitar might look like an ***, but you few people actually are asses! thanks for nothing btw, keep up the bs talk'n!

I know this was a few days ago but here you go, I did this to my old GSR, First you have to clean them really well with, Pre-Cleanol (they sell it at the paint store just ask they'll know what it is) once they are clean from any grease, use a skotch brite for plastic, and smooth them down as best as you can, since they have texture you will need to put your back into it. Next you will need to primer them and dont be scared to lay it on a little thick since you need to build it up. Then wet sand them smooth try not to burn through the primer and then pain them what ever color you want preferably automotive paint and clear since your putting so much time and work into it. Thats the right way of doing it for them to come out as smooth as the rest of the car. Or you could always be lazy and pre-cleanol, primar and paint but then they'll look like ****. Hope this helps.

No prob, a couple quick notes, before you spary the paint make sure to Pre-Cleanol the parts again with a clean towel (something that doesn't leave lint maybe a blue shop towel) and then use a tack rag (its a sticky rag that picks up anything left over i.e dirt, lint) they're only a couple bucks and you can get them at the paint store. You wont need alot of material for the job so maybe a quart of primer, a quart of paint 3-5 coats should cover nice, and as much clear as you want depending on the clear and if your going to color sand and buff the parts. If you can get the clear to lay down nice and not to run, you dont really have to color sand and buff. Hope all of this helps and good luck.
