i heard that if you put a system in a prelude that it makes the trunk rattle really bad.. i know that a system is going to make any trunk rattle a little bit, but does anyone have this problem?

Almost every car with a decent boxed system in the trunk rattles. Yet, you cannot notice it until you stand behind your car with the trunk closed while system on.
If it annoys you too much then use some thin adhesive foam or something to mold around trunk linging. I dunno, just a thought.

Re: trunk rattle because of system?? (prsi)
yeah the trunk rattles, in 3rd 4th or 5th gen, reason is, they use those metal torsion bars and not like mini hydrolics. those torsion bars are what mainly rattle, and cuz they are so close to the underside of the speakers, they rattle more.
U cant really get them to stop rattling. u can add dynomatting, sound spray foam, and even tape up the trunk torsion bar things in wrapped foam, but im pretty sure u will still get some rattling.

i would definatly dyno mat the car and foam spray those bars on the ends where they could hit metal. If you did that then your car would almost not rattle at all. You would just hear a solid thump!
dynomatting is also not that expensive.

You could glue bricks to the underside of my trunk... and it's still going to rattle.

Yeah, my trunk rattles so much it sounds funny. I dont think its possible to fix it. I have 2 Fosgate HE2's...they are 12's and I power the with the Fosgate 800a2 amp.

it's just a matter of choosing subs that do not require a big box. most single subs i know only need 1 cubic foot of box and they are not big at all. 2 won't be a problem.

Re: how?
amen to no trunk. i've actually considered removing my back seat and gettin a custom interior so I can use it as my luggage space. i've got an amp, 2 10s, 2 12 disc cd players and a box of tools in my trunk and it's REAL tight. a pair of boots and a kickball is about all I can fit. i've gotten REALLY good at packing my back seat without blocking the rear view mirror.
