rattle clanking noise in 2nd gear when making right turn ONLY
I have this very strange problem. My car makes rattle noise when it's in second gear and mostly when turning to the right. it doesn't sound when turning left and rarely when going straight. At first i thought it could be the cv axle (even though i have both rebuilt just 2 months ago). But here is why it isn't the axle. Say i stop at stop sign then make right turn. While the car is in 1st gear and moving (turning) to the right, nothing happens. As soon as i shift it to second gear, there goes the clanking sound. When i turn the car straight back, the noise gradually disappears. It doesn't make noise when turning to the left OR turning to the right but with other gears such as 1st or 3rd. I (highly) suspect that the noise coming from inside of the transmission but that's just a doubt. Can anyone give me a diagnose. Thanks.

I created an account just to bump this almost-7-year-old thread, because I'm having the exact same problem. Anyone have any ideas at all on what the cause could be?

I've been seeing this thread pop up over the last couple weeks:

Could this be the problem?
You didn't mention what year your lude is.

Mine is actually an '03 Civic EX.
I didn't even realize that this thread was part of the Prelude board, as I found it through a Google search. Thanks for the link, though. It looks like the same problem that I'm having.
