i did a search already and it answered all my questions except for one... does the legend caliper bolt right up to the sr-v brake caliper mounts? and which caliper goes where? thanks

It will bolts right up with the sr-v. Use the right(legend) on the left prelude mount(side) and use the left(legend) on the right prelude mount(side).

WRONG

do NOT swap the sides of the calipers. If you look at the there is a bigger piston out of the 2 and they are positioned on the legend for a specific reason. When i did this swap i first swaped the left for right and right for left and noticed that the braking was kinda weird felt less than the OEMs, but i figured the pads needed to break in, so then couple months i took it off and noticed the pads were wearing very weird. Do not swap left for right. Only after you install stick a peice of wood in the caliper and and hang it so the bleed screw is up. and then blled that way.

But other than that its a direct bolt in, and you can use a 5mm spacer if you want. i didn't, but if u have a 5th gen then u can bold the caliper and the legend 5 lug disk

I've seen 3 reviews from people where they said they swapped sides and the wear was fine...I think it's a case-by-case kinda thing.....

well im my opinion and from experience you sould not swap the sides, honda made thos calipers to mount on the legend that way for a reason. you have to keep in mind there are going to be different forces on the disk now becasue of 2 different sized pistons. its up to you though good luck

Everybody wants the easy way out. You can switch them, but then you'd have more pressure on the leading edge of the brake pad which causes MUCH more problems than having more pressure on the trailing side of the pad. All this so that you don't have to flip up the caliper to bleed them...

umm, maybe you did something wrong?

i've had mine on for a year now and pad wear is even.

nope i did it all right, first i got lazy and didn't want to have to flip the caliper to bleed it so i just swapped the sides, and after a couple of months of street racing and hrad stops i had un even wear.

so to be able to do this swap, i need to get the brackets from the vtec model to put on my si before i do the swap?

measure you disks , i know you need the VTEC rotors or brembros , but i don't know aobut the bracket . i think it needs to be the 23t bracket. im not sure if the bracket on the si and the vtec are the smae, the diffrence could just be the disk itself

you need the legend brackets, legend calipers, vtec rotors, vtec pads, and a 5mm shim.

and when you buy the calipers the brackets should be included.

im using the VTEC brackets and the vtec rotors, and when i bought my calipers they DIDN'T come withthe brackets. What i wad trying to say previously is that im not sure if the si braket is the same as a VTEC braket, thats why you should check to see if it a 23T. About the 5mm shim, im not using one, but i plan on replacing the pads before i get half way down , and or making ashim at some point, but if your starting with new pads you won't need the 5mm shim for a while

the Si bracket and VTEC brackets are different. the Si is too small. and i would bitch and raise hell if the calipers didn't come with brackets!!!

picked up my calipers today.

$50+$50 core each, here. You can return your old calipers in person to any Kragen (west coast) or.. dunno the east coast chain. Check the website.

mine were $40 each, included the brackets and no core. of course all they did was rip them off a legend, still had the brake line attached.

Junkyard? yeah that's cool too. I have a 5th gen so I don't need brackets. What steps did you take to 'remanufacture' them?

boots were fine, so i just cleaned them up and painted them.
