Default PowerStop Brake Rotors

I ordered a set of brake rotors from Powerstop brake rotors through Summit Racing and I was a little disappointed in them. Now I know assuming is never the right thing to do but I assumed they used Brembo blank rotors and machined them in house.

When I opened them they had no protection for shipping at all. A four inch by four inch piece of cardboard set between them stacked in the box and were not rapped in plastic or foam or anything and it was obvious they had been beat around during shipping. Also when I look on the edge of the rotor it says "China".

I called Powerstop and asked them about this and they told me that their rotors are all casted and machined in China but carried the same guarantee and warranty as always, and that Powerstop holds their Chinese manufacturer to strict quality regulations.

Anyone else have an opinion on these rotors? I kinda of feel I could have just bought some ebay brand and saved a lot of money.

Junk them and get these. 5 months and still strong.

I have never gotten power stops looking as you described, always oil coated and rotors in individual boxes

This is exactly how I opened them. Dry, with some of the zinc plating chipping off.

Well it is summit racing who I bought them through but they ship directly from the manufacturer. I guess I'm not sure what to ask for. When I do the rear Vtec brake conversion I'll probanly just go with the Hart rotors. Apperently all rotor blanks are made in China now which I can believe that but I would at least prefer the machining to be done here for quality control.

How have the PowerStop rotors worked for you so far? I bought Hawk pads and are curious if they are going to eat through the rotors.

The hart ones i posted are amazing. They all came in one big box, but each rotor was in its own box with amazing package. All were greasy and no chips.

the brakes are very good too. money well spent.
