Power steering fluid leak, take a look.
I have a leak in my power steering system and I was wondering if anyone else has run into this or could shed some light on the situation.
When I turn the wheel from lock to lock PS fluid leaks out from what looks like around the tie rod boots where it connects to the steering gearbox. The left is leaking more than the right when the wheel is turn in the respective direction.
In the manual it says this:
NOTE:
When the flluid leaks from one
side of the rack the balance tube
transfers the fluid to the other
side, giving the appearance that
both sides are leaking. To
troubleshoot, remove both boots,
clean the rack and locate the leak.
I dont know if its applicable to what I am going through.
It also leaks when left sitting for a long period of time. If parked for a few days, when I come back the reservoir will be about 1/3 leaked out.
Its not leaking from the pump of the reservoir. What do you guys think it could be.
I recently have had all the tie rods and boots replaced, as well as had the car aligned and re aligned about 7 times in the past 2 months (no joke).
Tell me what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

Re: (busyychild)
try cleaning all the oil up, then start it up, have someone turn the steering wheel left to right and find the oil leak. get a flash light! im thinking its your steering rack.
