how to tell legal/non legal headers?

how to tell legal/non legal headers?
is there a sticker or something on the DC headers that say its legal? or would i be able to use non street legal MEGAN headers and non get a fix-it ticket?
or simply how would a cop who checks my hood know i have street legal headers?

I think they might mean "street legal" as in able to pass emissions. Cuz I guess if your car doesn't pass emissions and pollutes the air more, then it isn't "street legal".

thanks for the info.im gonna still look into it before i spend my savings ahah i really dont want to deal with a FIX it TICKET where u gotta call the ref and all that crap.

i learned my lesson u go cheap you end up paying more for fixing tickets and refree smog check then getting a legal headers and cop cant give u one sense theres a carb # i live in CA, sac and its terable here with cops and carb#

either way if a cop checks ur engine and sees that its not stock and really wants to give u a ticket, they will. Weather u pass emissions or not. Trust me ive tried to tell it all to them and they couldnt give a damn.
Yes a stock cat should get u through the emissions just fine.
I would also suggest checking the SEMA rules about ur states whats legal and whats not legal **** about cars. Ud probly be really surprised at what u find. Cuz EVERYTHING on my car as of right now is "street legal" but u name it ive probly been given a ticket for it. Heck with the few things i have on it as of right now it goes through emissions so clean that if it gets any cleaner they will have to check for "Illegal" parts i.e. h/i/e whatever it takes to get it to there specs will have to come off.

alright i made my choice thanks to you guys and others on h-tech..im going with a legal DC header instead of the megan racing cause i figured theyed last longer from what ive read.ALSO theyre legal = no cop trouble!..hopefully haha

I'd like to see your source. I've yet to find anything bad about a Megan header other than it doesn't give much gain, just like a DC because it's basically a stock replacement. I see your point about it being legal though but I have Megan on my car and am just personally interested in the problems people had because I'm very impressed wit the construction of it, especially for the price of it.
