F22A1 - Can the water pump be replaced without removing timing belt?
the timing belt was replaced by the previous owner but he's an idiot and didnt replace the water pump. now, waddya know. the water pump just went out on me. can i replace it without removing the valve cover and timing belt? or does it all have to come off again
the vehicle is a 1994 prelude but this question is for the accord guys too

Trying to do the work around, is risky if you are not good at it, cause you can slip a tooth and have your motor run like crap, which in turn can potentially damager your motor.
Just do them both.

If it's been over 10K miles since the Timing belt was replaced why not just replace it again to be safe?
I think you could replace the water pump without removing the T-belt. You would have to loosen the tensioner, slide the belt off the water pump while keeping tension on it with something so it doesn't lose slack and come of the cam or crank gears. I would zip tie it to the cam gear to keep it from jumping a tooth while you're working on the WP.
